Description
The plants in this course were, and continue to be, medicine to the Indigenous peoples of the Los Angeles and Southern California region — most notably the Chumash and Tongva (Gabrielino), along with neighboring nations like the Cahuilla, Luiseño, and Kumeyaay. This knowledge comes from documented ethnobotanical records, and we’re sharing it here with respect for where it comes from, not as a substitute for it.
This is educational content, not medical advice. Several plants in this course are genuinely dangerous if misidentified or misused — pay close attention to the toxicity notes on each one.
